Ao longo dos anos, este objetivo n\u00e3o parou de produzir resultados e de gerar novos desafios. O congresso se situa, portanto, com uma voz pr\u00f3pria, ib\u00e9rica, no quadro europeu dos estudos africanos. Com uma capacidade de convoca\u00e7\u00e3o crescente, que ultrapassa o quadro peninsular (mais de 50 pain\u00e9is e 400 participantes nas \u00faltimas edi\u00e7\u00f5es), complementa os f\u00f3runs gerados a partir das confer\u00eancias AEGIS ou pelo pr\u00f3prio ECAS, ao mesmo tempo que cristaliza, cada vez mais, a sua vontade de se tornar um ponto de encontro reconhecido com os parceiros e parceiras africanos, bem como uma refer\u00eancia para os estudos sobre os grupos afrodescendentes nas Am\u00e9ricas.<\/em> <\/p>\n

O primeiro Congresso de Estudos Africanos no Mundo Ib\u00e9rico<\/em><\/a> (CEAMI 1) foi realizado entre 17 e 20 de novembro de 1991 em Madrid, no Col\u00e9gio Mayor Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de \u00c1frica, do Minist\u00e9rio dos Assuntos Exteriores. O congresso surgiu de uma iniciativa conjunta de acad\u00e9micos portugueses e espanh\u00f3is, impulsionada de forma decisiva pela professora Isabel Castro Henriques (U. de Lisboa) e pelo professor Ferran Iniesta (U. de Barcelona). Esta primeira edi\u00e7\u00e3o, dedicada a tem\u00e1ticas amplas (religi\u00e3o e cultura, economia e sociedade, Estado e rela\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais, l\u00edngua e literatura e Estudos Africanos em Portugal e Espanha) encontraria continuidade, na mesma sede, de 15 a 17 de Setembro de 1999, gerando as primeiras atas, \u00c1frica no s\u00e9culo XXI, publicadas pela Sial Ediciones, sob a coordena\u00e7\u00e3o de Juan Ram\u00f3n Trujillo (2001). O congresso se consolidou, definitivamente, com a sua terceira edi\u00e7\u00e3o, organizada pela Universidade de Lisboa, na Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Gulbenkian, entre 11 e 13 de Dezembro de 2001, sob o t\u00edtulo Novas rela\u00e7\u00f5es com \u00c1frica: que perspetivas?<\/em>, dando origem \u00e0s atas editadas por Isabel Castro Henriques (2003). Com ele, n\u00e3o somente se consagrou uma periodicidade bienal, como foram desencadeadas as sinergias entre as academias portuguesa e espanhola e estabelecida a marca internacional do congresso.<\/p>\n

Do quarto ao sexto congresso: consolida\u00e7\u00e3o<\/h2>\n

Cada nova edi\u00e7\u00e3o deste s\u00e9culo incorporou novidades e contribuiu com redes e projetos renovados. Sempre com o intuito, tamb\u00e9m, de ampliar a lista de sedes para o Congresso. Assim, a 4\u00aa edi\u00e7\u00e3o do CEAMI, com o lema “\u00c1frica caminha”<\/em> , teve lugar em Barcelona, \u200b\u200bna Llotja da C\u00e2mara de Com\u00e9rcio da cidade, organizada pelo Grupo de Estudos das Sociedades Africanas da Universidade de Barcelona, \u200b\u200bde 12 de janeiro a 16 de setembro de 2004, com o envolvimento decisivo da ent\u00e3o nascente Secretaria de Coopera\u00e7\u00e3o da Generalitat da Catalunha. O CEAMI 5, cujo tema foi \u201c\u00c1frica: compreender trajet\u00f3rias, olhar para o futuro\u201d<\/em>, foi realizado na Covilh\u00e3, organizado pela Universidade da Beira Interior, abrindo o congresso ao conjunto de centros portugueses de estudos africanos (4 a 6 de maio de 2006). O CEAMI 6 nos levou a Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (7 a 9 de maio de 2008), f\u00edsica e tematicamente, por sua abordagem de \u201c\u00c1frica, pontes, conex\u00f5es e interc\u00e2mbios\u201d.<\/em> Organizado pela universidade da cidade, se destaca pela participa\u00e7\u00e3o, continuada desde ent\u00e3o, da rec\u00e9m-criada Casa \u00c1frica<\/a>. As tr\u00eas edi\u00e7\u00f5es deram origem a atas digitais, que em breve estar\u00e3o acess\u00edveis no s\u00edtio eletr\u00f3nico da nova Rede de Estudos Africanos.<\/p>\n

Do CIEA 7 ao CIEA 9<\/h2>\n

A 7\u00aa edi\u00e7\u00e3o, sob o lema \u201c50 anos das independ\u00eancias africanas: desafios para a modernidade\u201d<\/em>, foi realizada em Lisboa, organizada e acolhida pelo Centro de Estudos Africanos do ISCTE, de 9 a 11 de setembro de 2010; o nome do encontro foi revisto, passando a se chamar Congresso Ib\u00e9rico de Estudos Africanos (CIEA). Seguiu-se o CIEA-8, em Madrid, de 14 a 16 de junho de 2012, colocando-nos \u201cSob a \u00e1rvore da palavra: resist\u00eancias e transforma\u00e7\u00f5es entre o local e o global\u201d<\/em>, gra\u00e7as \u00e0 organiza\u00e7\u00e3o do Grupo de Estudos Africanos<\/a> da Universidade Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid, que acolheu a reuni\u00e3o. Uma resenha desta edi\u00e7\u00e3o pode ser encontrada em Pueblos, Revista de Informaci\u00f3n y Debate<\/a> (2012). O CIEA-9 foi realizado em 2014, em Coimbra, sendo organizado pelo Centro de Estudos Sociais<\/a> da Universidade de Coimbra, de 11 a 13 de setembro, com o lema \u201c\u00c1frica hoje: tempos e espa\u00e7os de transforma\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d.<\/em> Resultou na primeira p\u00e1gina web permanente do congresso.<\/a><\/p>\n

Duas edi\u00e7\u00f5es rumo a uma rede<\/h2>\n

V\u00e1rias circunst\u00e2ncias alheias aos organizadores, como os efeitos da crise que come\u00e7ou em 2008 e, posteriormente, o COVID-19, obrigaram a prolongar os per\u00edodos entre a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos congressos. Mas n\u00e3o somente a conex\u00e3o n\u00e3o foi quebrada, como os dois \u00faltimos congressos geraram o compromisso de criar uma rede ib\u00e9rica de estudos africanos, cuja express\u00e3o bienal ser\u00e1 o congresso, para otimizar a sua estabilidade e permeabilidade social e acad\u00e9mica. Assim, de 25 a 27 de janeiro de 2018, foi realizado o CIEA 10, organizado pela Universidade de Granada, atrav\u00e9s da equipa AFRICAInEs<\/a>, , investigaci\u00f3n y estudios aplicados al Desarrollo<\/em> (SEJ-491, Universidade de Granada), sob o tema \u201cPovos e culturas africanas: identidades, poderes, saberes e tradi\u00e7\u00f5es no feminino\u201d.<\/em> Durante o congresso, que consolidou a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de uma p\u00e1gina permanente, al\u00e9m da publica\u00e7\u00e3o das atas, foi acordado o mandato para iniciar o processo de estabelecimento de uma rede ib\u00e9rica de estudos africanos. O CIEA 11<\/a> foi realizado em Lisboa, entre 6 e 8 de julho de 2022, organizado pelo Centro de Hist\u00f3ria da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa<\/a> (CHUL), sob o tema \u201cTr\u00e2nsitos africanos no mundo global: hist\u00f3ria e mem\u00f3rias, heran\u00e7as e inova\u00e7\u00f5es\u201d.<\/em> O congresso formalizou o acordo alcan\u00e7ado em Granada, e o CHUL mobilizou recursos humanos e financeiros para poder estabelecer a Rede de Estudos Africanos (REA) no pr\u00f3ximo congresso, CIEA 12, que ter\u00e1 lugar em Barcelona, \u200b\u200bentre 29 e 31 de janeiro de 2025, com o objetivo de transformar o CIEA no congresso da REA.<\/p>\n
