Vinte anos depois, o Congresso Ib\u00e9rico de Estudos Africanos regressa a Barcelona, organizado pelo Grupo de Estudos sobre Cultura e Domina\u00e7\u00e3o – Grupo de Estudos sobre Sociedades Africanas (GECID-GESA) da Universidade de Barcelona. Tal como ent\u00e3o, o congresso procura convidar todos os sectores sociais e acad\u00e9micos a abordar as sociedades africanas e as suas di\u00e1sporas. Nessa altura, a inten\u00e7\u00e3o era chamar a aten\u00e7\u00e3o para a incorpora\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00c1frica na sociedade global, abordando as perspectivas de um afro-otimismo nascente, expresso com a imagem da “\u00c1frica caminha”, rompendo com a imagem negativa e est\u00e1tica que era repetidamente reproduzida sobre as sociedades africanas. Agora, sob o t\u00edtulo “Respostas africanas ao dilema descolonial”, o congresso convida-nos a explorar o papel africano na constitui\u00e7\u00e3o de uma sociedade planet\u00e1ria que s\u00f3 poder\u00e1 ser inclusiva e real se assumir a sua diversidade. Precisamente o que agora se apresenta como o dilema descolonial p\u00f5e em evid\u00eancia as dificuldades decorrentes do predom\u00ednio da “componente ocidental” na gest\u00e3o da diferen\u00e7a e na nega\u00e7\u00e3o da desigualdade no mundo. <\/p>\n

Neste sentido, a longa experi\u00eancia do pluralismo cultural africano \u00e9 um trunfo essencial para facilitar a coexist\u00eancia e o enriquecimento m\u00fatuo, com base nas m\u00faltiplas mem\u00f3rias e din\u00e2micas que convergem na globaliza\u00e7\u00e3o. Estas mem\u00f3rias, tantas vezes antag\u00f3nicas entre si – como \u00e9 o caso das heran\u00e7as coloniais, hoje muito presentes – s\u00e3o muito mais do que discursos: materializam-se e emanam de solidariedades muito diferentes, mas todas elas s\u00e3o essenciais para a coes\u00e3o social no mundo e para a supera\u00e7\u00e3o das assimetrias de todo o tipo de que ele padece. A \u00c1frica tem muito a dizer na articula\u00e7\u00e3o desta multiplicidade e na constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma sociedade global mais justa. <\/p>\n

O mandato emitido no ICAE de Granada em 2018 levou \u00e0 constitui\u00e7\u00e3o de uma rede ib\u00e9rica de estudos africanos em Lisboa em 2022. O organizador, o Centro de Hist\u00f3ria da Universidade de Lisboa, comprometeu-se a colaborar, atrav\u00e9s de uma Comiss\u00e3o Instaladora, para lhe dar forma jur\u00eddica e material, e a apresentar uma proposta para a sua implementa\u00e7\u00e3o no pr\u00f3ximo congresso, em Barcelona 2025. Assim, o ICAE 12 tornar-se-\u00e1 a primeira assembleia da nova Rede de Estudos Africanos que, tecida a partir dos centros e grupos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o africanistas de Portugal e Espanha, se abre ao mundo atrav\u00e9s da liga\u00e7\u00e3o com os seus parceiros, particularmente em \u00c1frica. O Congresso Ib\u00e9rico de Estudos Africanos tornar-se-\u00e1 assim o grande encontro bienal da Rede de Estudos Africanos. <\/p>\n
